May's Student of the Month!

Matthew Soucinek, of Lake City, Florida, is THE Golf Academy of North Florida’s ‘May Student of the Month’. Matthew has been a student of Dale Claussen, for almost 4 years and has become one of the top juniors in the State of Florida.

Matthew currently plays to a tournament scoring average of 73.4 and is rated the 440th player in the nation. On the Hurricane Junior Golf TOUR (HJGT), Matthew is 3rd nationally in points and is vying for the top spot. Besides having the recognition as leading the nation in points on the TOUR, the winner also gets to spend 2 hours, one on one, with Tiger Woods talking golf…That’s pretty cool. Good Luck Matt!!

Coach Dale explains, “Matthew has become an excellent player and is as dedicated a junior player as I have ever been around. I love the fact that when we finish a lesson, I know he will work as hard as he can to fix what is needed. I’m very proud of Matt and believe he has only reached a portion of how good he is going to be”. Coach Dale adds, “for junior golfers out there, Matthew is a great example of hard work and really great fundamentals, that combination will take your game to the next level, and the kid can really putt it!.”

We all wish Matthew the best this summer as he competes in several huge events…2018 Future Masters, 2018 US Junior Boys and 2018 National Amateur Championships, and the 2018 Florida Open…Keep an eye out for him!
